A Place To Call Home

After three weeks of staying in lovely hotels and guest houses, I finally have a place to call home for my time in Bermuda!

It's all very exciting, and I have to say that it really feels like a great find. A few things I'm learning (sorry, I like lists!):

1. Do not leave any food out. Ever. Even and especially in the kitchen. Just don't do it.

2. It's going to be hot, or you're going to pay your sweaty arm and leg in electricity. It's fine, you're not made of wax or chocolate, you won't melt away (I say this now, as I sit directly beside the air conditioner in my room, on full blast. Talk to me an hour ago, I would have payed you beautifully designed Bermudian money to throw left-over ice from your drink at me, in the face).

3. Every label on every bottled, canned or paper packaged thing you buy, will peel off in a matter of minutes. Get used to soggy.

4. All magazines and books will not remain pristine, they will all self-wrinkle, immediately.

5. There are these bags that someone has designed that you put in your closets to keep mildew and mould away. They look to be a hanger, with a paper/plastic surface, and then a sac at the bottom that you fill with water. It confuses me, but I will buy some for fear of things unknown!

6. You should have forty-seven ceiling fans in every room. That is all.

7. I've taken to attaching a light, colourful (though that has nothing to do with the story) scarf to my bag (that has left me with just a discussion point of a tan mark along my collar bone/chest) so that I might mop my melting face, so as to not look like I may pass out directly in front of the public, at any moment. It's a pretty, girly scarf, so that I might look like less of a man when I have to wipe my brow every 17.2 seconds.

8. I'm just... I'm gross. I look, at all times, like someone told me to stand still, and lobbed half-melted sticks of butter at my head.

Moving on to less sweaty topics! Below are some pictures of this new lovely abode. Just beautiful. My room is pretty plain at the moment, due to the fact that I have no idea what to do with it! I did decide, however, that brown and orange would be the best for my bedding. Not for everyone, but definitely for me!

    1. Thanks Michelle! It was such a great feeling to get my stuff unpacked and in the proper places. I went out and bought organizational stuff, which I know isn't at all a shock, but information nonetheless!

Can't wait for you and Kyle to see it in person!
